Girls Only Beach Trip

My mom, Adison, & I went to Madeira Beach Thursday to spend the night for our very first "Girls only" trip. We left early in the morning and headed straight there. We didn't let the fact that it was storming affect us at all. In our minds, it would clear up and all would be great. We got there too early to check into our room, so we went to a public beach access and spent a few hours playing in the waves. By the time we left for our room, it was POURING. Needless to say, the rest of the day was a wash when it came to the beach. We did leave to go to John's Pass for dinner. We went to Bubba Gump's for dinner and decided to walk around for a bit afterward to let Adison get rid of some of her energy. We walked past one of those photo places that did the old time pictures. We figured "what the heck" and went inside. We decided to do the saloon photos. It was really fun to get dressed up. Adison was adorable. She even held the pistols like a little bank robber!! Friday morning, we woke up early hoping to get a little beach time in before the rain started. We managed to get about 45 minutes or so before we decided to call it a day. Even with all of the rain, it was a great time. Just hanging out with my mom was the best. It's true, you never really appreciate your parents until you are one yourself!! We've already planned our next trip. Hopefully we'll get a little more sunshine next time.

4th of July

We were really busy for the 4th of July. We went to Crystal River on Saturday to spend the day with Lance's dad. We went to a little festival in downtown. Adison thought the band was fun. She was really cute standing in front of them "dancing". She also got her very first Sno-Cone while we were there. It was a sticky mess, but Adison thought it was the best thing ever!!

After the festival, we went out on the boat to scallop. We had our boat, but unfortunately, we waited about 30 minutes too long to leave, and couldn't get the boat under a bridge to get out in the channel. So...we went back to Lance's dad's house, unloaded all of the stuff from our boat, and RELOADED it onto their boat. For anyone with a baby, you understand the undertaking this was because you have to pack EVERYTHING "just in case" you need it. We eventually made it out and had a great time on the water!!

Sunday, we woke up and went back to Crystal River for more boating. Scallops were few and far between, but it was fun looking for them. Adison seemed to have her "sea legs" and even walked around in the boat. She still HATES her life vest, but is getting better about wearing it. It was a really nice, relaxing weekend.

Fun with the Loricks

We went to Ocala last week to meet the newest member of the Lorick family, Haylah. She was born in early June, but we wanted to give the family a few weeks to adjust before we barged in. What a GREAT baby!! She didn't fuss one time while we were there. Adison got to play with her buddy, Gracie. This was the first time that she actually went off without me (they were only in the livingroom) to play. The girls also took a ride in Gracie's Barbie jeep. Gracie was a very good driver!! It was a really fun visit!!
